Carrie and I took two days to prepare the room for their little one (due in September!)
Since Carrie couldn't be around the fumes, she just helped me tape. We had the hardest time figuring out a pattern, and mostly, where to put the border. We at first wanted a border around the top of the room, but soon realized how impossible it would be with one pregnant lady and one 5'3 girl with no ladder!
We finally found where we wanted the 'chair rail' border to go and taped off the top and bottom. Then we put vertical stripes along the border and painted over it with white paint.
More measuring....
We had lots of help from the guys...
Here's the border all done, complete with white, blue and light green (though it looks like yellow in this picture). We taped the top and bottom AGAIN because it was missing something, and tinted the blue paint to be powder blue and then added a border to the border...
On the second day, we pulled the tape off of the plain border and I said, "Carrie, I think you're going to kill me. But I want to add vertical stripes on the bottom of the room!"
And look how beautiful the stripes came out!!
Taking the tape off is the most fun part. We were suprised to find that the colors were almost perfect matches to her bumper and sheets in the crib!
