If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Summer Travels: Roan Mountain, TN

This post is out of order... we went to Marion NC before this, but oh well! It's hard to keep them in order!!!

This is us at a waterfall in Tennessee. We spent a weekend with my Mom and Dad at a cabin that is owned by a ministry that serves people in ministry.

Look closely at the top of the waterfall-- Scott is standing at the top to the right. Can you see him?
We had heard about a Museum in TN dedicated to Butler, a town that was put under water by the TVA. They made a dam out of a river there to make that area more navigable by boats and such, so the whole town moved. Now it is called "New Butler, the town that wouldn't drown".

There was a woman who worked in the Museum who lived there before the dam was put up and she went on and on and on about all the things in the museum during the tour... but my mom and I were very bored so we left and went outside to pet these horses.

Here is my Mom and Dad beside the trail that we hiked on to get to the waterfall. I think my Dad was tickling my Mom in this picture. It was also my Mom's birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

This little duck followed people everywhere. He was so friendly!
The cabin behind my Dad and Scott is the main cabin.. inside there is a large living room with a fireplace and rocking chairs and a piano. We went there a couple nights and just talked in front of a fire.
Upstairs is a really cute gift shop with movies and games and books you can check out and use in your own cabin if you like. Our cabin looked similar to this, only much smaller.
