If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Update on our language classes...

The last week of language class has been so much better than the first week! I haven't glared at any of my teachers ONCE when they turned their back. Well... maybe I rolled my eyes or gave a big huff once or twice, but still... that's a big improvement.

We decided that the only way to slow down the pace was to come to class unprepared a few times. I didn't want to do that, because the academic system here uses shame as a motivation, and I didn't want another taste of that. But it worked! It forced them to let us use class time to actually learn it, not just look at it once and be expected to put it into immediate practice.
I can now even read some characters, and can say many phrases (that I butcher every day during practice). But I have gracious friends who don't laugh too much, and they encourage me all the time.

All in all, language classes are much better!
