If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Wild Horses! Thailand

I'm going to apologize in advance for the amount of pictures here... but you know how much I love horses, and plus, Scott tried non-stop to get the 'perfect picture' the entire hour I rode! I think he got quite a few!

I think this picture below is funny. The man here with the 4 on the back of his shirt was all set and ready to guide the horse the entire hour. We don't speak Thai, and he didn't know English, so I could only play Charades with him to try and explain he could let go! He looked concerned letting go, so I cracked the reigns and took off running. Scott told me later about the funny face he made when we started flying down the beach. He shrugged his shoulders and went to sit in the truck and wait! He is such a beautiful horse! And so strong. After an hour of riding, my arms were shaky from pulling on the reigns. He acted like he wanted to run for miles and miles.

About 30 minutes into riding, I hopped down so I could get a cute picture with the horse in the waves- I took a closer look at him, and realized he was part, if not completely Arabian.

I was so shocked! Not only was this a stallion... he was an Arabian stallion. Arabians are so spirited and can be difficult to manage even if you know what you're doing. Therefore, I've never even asked to ride an Arabian. I couldn't believe they put me on this horse not knowing if I was a good rider or not.
I was so suprised I didn't pick up on it when I first got on... I guess I was too excited. Looking back on it, I wouldn't have gotten on if I'd known what kind of horse he was. I'm glad I didn't know, because I would have missed out BIG time!

For the most part, he was a great horse. He stopped when I pulled on the reins... just not right away! The picture above is funny because he stopped just in time to not trample Scott while he was clicking away!

I was so impressed with this stallion. A little into the ride, these dogs came and started nipping at their heels. I was terrified, because I've been on a horse when it spooked; they become unpredictable and it's one of the more scary things in life. But this horse didn't blink an eye! I'm proud of the horse's owners, too, because they make the horses safer to 'rent out' by exposing them to dogs, water, traffic, whatever.
When I worked on the horse farm, I was constantly worried about the dear in the woods- they would leap out of nowhere and we'd have a 7 horse trail- ride gone wild.

These pictures give a good idea of what I was doing the entire time: hanging on and grinning ear to ear.

I threw this picture in because Scott snapped it while I was horsing around. These boats were scattered all over... it was by far the most beautiful and thrilling ride I've ever had!
