Between classes, and having fun with our friends, I don't find too much time for the internet! But here's some things we've been up to lately....
- last night, my friend took me to a skating rink! it was about $1 to rent skates. Talk about crazy! The music is loud, they have strobe lights and disco balls, and they don't all go in the same direction.... so about every 1-2 times around, my friend and I ran into an asian boy or girl and fell to the ground in giggles. It was SO fun. Plus, there was a boy there who looked like 'Rufio' from "Hook". When my friend told him that I said he looked like a movie star, he was so embarassed.
- we have found some coffee shops here! two of them are quite good...the other I'm still trying to forget. Scott ordered a club sandwich and I ordered a hamburger. We were so excited to get western food. Long story short, it definately was NOT western food. The club sandwich was cucumbers with fried eggs and spam on sweet bread. The hamburger was a little piece of chicken with thousand island dressing and egg and tomato on sweet bread.
-we've started watching "prison break" as our TV entertainment. It's a thriller! It is like 24, so don't watch it at night and DO have covers nearby so you can hide under them when you need to.
- we spent Thanksgiving in a city nearby with some other Americans we met. We had turkey, stuffing, casseroles and pie! And then we played a war game with rubber band guns!!! Those things are fun. While we were there we bought Christmas decorations- a tree, stockings and lights.
- life with Duke (our puppy) is so much fun. We've taught him to come when we call, so when we're outside, I hold him while Scott walks several yards away. Then I let him loose and Scott calls him, and he puts his ears back and takes off like a rocket, and then jumps on Scott. It is the cutest! We've also been working on training him to walk on the leash. It's slow but steady. And yesterday he began playing fetch with a rubber duck. It always gets me laughing. His potty training regresses every now and then, but for the most part, he 'goes' in 1 of 3 places all the time. Just as long as it's not everywhere!!!!!
