Scott is the star of the team, and the pressure he's getting is flattering, but nerve- racking!
Anyway, there is only one person on Scott's team who knows a little English... and the other day the coach was trying to give Scott some direction, but he couldn't understand.
So Scott's buddy who knows a little English came up to him and tried to translate: "He... wants you to ... be a robber."
Scott said, "A robber? He wants me to be a robber?" he paused for a second, wondering what in the world this meant.
His friend said, "You know, he wants you to rob the ball."
Scott said "Oohhh, you mean he wants me to steal the ball?"
hahaha!
We had the opening ceremony this morning. This tournament is big deal. The Education Department leaders outfitted the entire team with two sets of jerseys, a new pair of shoes, and the matching outfits below. Good looking team, huh? This basketball tournament has brought out the tallest Asians I've ever seen!
There are 44 teams in all! 22 boys teams, 22 girl teams. One of the girls team asked me to be on their team, and all we could do was laugh. How about a pair of pom-poms, instead?

The Opening ceremony was grand- complete with three groups of dancers in Asian garb.Tomorrow is the first game! There are sure to be more pictures and stories to come.
