If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Our Little Grape

How your baby's growing: (9 weeks)
Your new resident is nearly an inch long- about the size of a grape- and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes form- as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain. -Babycenter.com

Half-way through week 8, our little grape started giving mommy an easier time with morning sickness, but I'm as tired as ever!! Howard and Debbie arrived Monday morning in our city and their "grand-burger" is so happy to be in the same room with them he/she isn't causing much discomfort. I've stopped losing weight and my tummy is definitely not fitting in the jeans as comfy as it used to. :-) While we were in the Big City waiting to pick up Howard and Debbie at the airport, my skin on my tummy began itching! I'm so excited, hoping this means I'm going to show early!

Weirdest thing I ate this week: Mustard sandwich

Best reaction to our pregnancy news this week: (a little girl) "Big sister, you're pregnant? When will the baby be born? In November... hmmm can I come hold your baby in November?"

Worst advice I've gotten this week: (at a pharmacy) "No we don't have any special creams for pregnant women's stomach. You shouldn't put any cream on your skin when you're pregnant!!"

Best gift I've gotten this week: Howard and Debbie came loaded with goodies- 6 maternity shirts, 1 pair maternity jeans, and a whole mess of the cutest onesies in the world!! I also recieved about 6 new bottles of body wash from Bath and Body Works. This mama is smelling GOOD!!!!
