If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Our Little Rutabaga

25 Weeks Pregnant!
How your baby's growing:

Head to heel, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight- a pound and a half- isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair- and if you could see it, you'd be able to discern its color and texture. (babycenter.com)

Here are some belly shots! He seems to be getting lower and lower! I love how people do a double-take when they see me, it's as they are trying to figure out if I'm pregnant. Chinese people have no shame- the other day I passed a shop owner I know and she said, "Oh, you're getting fat!" I just had to laugh. They also touch the belly (which I actually don't mind) or they just go all out and lift up my shirt (um, no thank you!).
For our anniversary celebration we biked out into the country-side to go fishing. If I'm seen riding a bicycle I would be hanged, so I rode on the back of Scott's bike.

That morning I woke up a little moody, but riding on the back of the bike with Adrian on my lap and Scott weaving in and out of people who were too stupefied by seeing us to move made me laugh the whole way. When we got off the road and started going through the corn fields I often had to hop off or was bounced off by all the rocks or ditches. A few times I would get back on but my feet were still on the ground, so of course when Scott started pedaling I was left standing there- I don't know why but the whole thing was like a Comedy of Errors to me and I laughed the whole two miles to the lake.

A bee flew in my croc and stung my toe later and the laughter was gone until I stopped telling Scott I was going to die from the pain. (Will someone please tell me why I think I can do a natural birth?)

Adrian is checking out her little brother and I'm saying "See the baby?" People say that dogs can sense when a woman is pregnant... I'm not saying it's true, but Adrian has become a serene, gentle dog when she sits on my lap. No more frantic clawing or jumping all over the place like she's hopped up on caffeine. Maybe there's something to that?

We wanted a 'family photo' (Adrian looks like a thug) but I set the camera to take 5 shots in a 'burst mode'. We thought it had finished but it got this one last candid shot.

Christine: What is on his face?
Scott: I think she's going to kiss me
Adrian: Is that camera lookin' at me?
