If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Our little Squaternut-bash.. I mean Butternut Squash

29 Weeks Pregnant!

Before I talk baby-talk, I'll explain where I've been the last few weeks! Because of where we live many websites, including all "free speech" websites are blocked (and of course Blogger falls into that category). We've only been able to keep up with the blogging world because we use a virtual private network- but last week our VPN stopped working and we've had to find another one but we don't want to spend the big bucks. We finally settled with Witopia, so now I can rejoin the fun. Now, on to more the baby stuff! Holy Cow I can't believe I'm about 11 weeks away, it seems like it's coming like a freight train. Here's the latest in the pregnancy:
  • I'm officially a crazy woman. You thought I was crazy before- oh you haven't seen anything. The anxiousness for the baby to come combined with the fact that I can't do anything to prepare (still haven't moved to new house yet) makes the craziness come at the drop of a hat. One minute I'm peaceful and serene, and the next I can't stop crying because the mop- head needs replacing. Pray for Scott.
  • My pregnancy dreams are getting cirque du soleil freaky. They range from trying to breast feed a rescued kitten, to Scott and I wandering the Chinese country-side trying to rescue abandoned girls. The baby has been moving so much- I always try to guess if what I felt was an elbow or a foot and one time I felt with my hand something about the size of a golf ball roll back and forth across my belly. Those movements take my breath away- but it's making me dream that my stomach is as thin as a balloon and I can see the outline of the baby (face and everything). The latest dream was that I was having twins (!!) and I could see them both through my balloon-belly and they were both crying! I woke up both sad that they were crying and grossed out because they looked like aliens.
  • The pregnancy advice keeps getting better and better. Last week I was told I need to buy lots of bottles because infants need to drink lots of water. ?? Also, no one understands my strike on rice and noodles (because of my high blood sugar). They tell me pregnant women should eat mostly rice. ???
  • I'm so excited about going to Thailand. We're trying to think of the best ways to make it like our last hurrah before the baby comes, but not sure how much I'll be able to do with a big ol belly. The weirdest thing is I'm most excited about being able to have salads and sandwiches for lunch. I can't remember the last time I had a sandwich!
  • I'm taking 2 to 3 hours naps in the afternoon if I have nothing planned.
  • I'm becoming a tetris master because of back cramps. They are so intense it's difficult even just sitting down. I keep hoping that all these things are just helping me prepare for a natural birth. I'm taking bets on how soon I cave and beg for the epidural!
  • I'm loving the ever- growing belly- take a look!
This is by far my favorite shirt to wear. See the packing boxes in the back-ground? I'm packing little by little. There's still one month to go before the moving truck comes. UGH I hate waiting for big transitions.

My favorite jeans are still my pre-pregnancy jeans- I just use the old hair-bow trick to make them bigger for the belly. I'm convinced that no maternity pants are made for women who carry as low as me. My pre-pregnancy pants are still my first choice, although I get lots of ridicule from friends(they say it hurts the baby). I always ask them, "Are you offering to make a pair that fit?" That shuts them up for a little bit.

In my mind I've started calling her "Little Tiger" because she will be born in the Chinese year of the tiger. It seems to fit more and more as she is getting some powerful kicks up in my ribs. Belly button hasn't popped yet- I'm starting to wonder if it will.
I've also been wondering if there could be twins... I'm feeling movement all over creation and I'm starting to think it's impossible for one baby to do all that groovin'. But then I don't think there's room in there for two 3 pound, 15 inch babies.... is there?
