If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

DIY: our new apartment

What I love most about our new home is it's potential. It's like this shell that we can do almost anything with....
the only thing is we have to do everything ourselves. The landlady won't pay to re-tile the bathroom or fix the crumbling plaster walls. So we put on our work clothes and got busy. We're not done yet, but when we are, I hope our 'labor of love' pays off! What's great is that almost everything is in great condition, so we can spend most of our money on furniture and accessories!
This is our dining room pre-decorated. We are painting the walls and adding a kitchen table, chairs and a hutch.
Here's the hallway. The first door to the right it the bathroom, then the dining room is beyond that... and at the end of the hallway are the three bedrooms. The one you can see into is a small room we'll probably use for storage.

Here's the kitchen. We are going to leave all the current tile but add shelves on the left and cabinets to the right. We hope to change out these bottom cabinets... they are pretty dirty. Also, the bottom shelf isn't a shelf at all, it's just the floor.

Here is our gigantic living room! We're painting it and we've ordered a ton of furniture and we might even carpet the area... We also need to see about some curtains.
Don't mind the panda windows... I'm not sure why or how they got there. :-)

Here is the bathroom! It's where most of the hard work is taking place. This is the before shot, but we separated the back part with a sliding glass door, plastered the front to cover up the rusted stained tiles (we'll paint over the plaster with a cute peach color). Scott is laying laminate in the front room, and re tiling the floor and walls in the back where the tub will go. We ordered an over-the -toilet caddy and a ladder shelf for the bathroom.
