If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Enjoying Thailand Way Too Much

We came to Thailand for medical reasons, but we spend every afternoon at the pool in between doctors visits. Here's some pictures of us acting like kids!

Scott has been getting terrible migraines about once a month, and his symptoms are getting worse and more bizarre each time. The last two head aches he's had trouble with speech (not being able to form sentences and even forgetting how to speak Chinese) So our insurance company sent us to Thailand for him to see a neurologist and Scott decided I was coming, too!

After an initial consultation, Scott's doctor ordered a brain and neck MRI. They told us it would take about 2 hours in the machine, so I went prepared to read to him and keep him company while he was in the huge MRI machine. What they didn't tell me was the deafening noise that would come from the machine ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY. They gave me headphones to block the noise and protect my ears and thought I was loony for wanting to stay with Scott while he was in there! But I insisted because I didn't' know about the noise and when Scott was settled I opened up a biography my mom and dad sent us (thanks mom! we love Ida Schudder) and was ready to read to him when the machine started going BrrrRRRRkkkkk cunk cunk cunk Brrrrnkkkkk cunk cunk CUNK.

I wasn't there for orientation so I'm looking around like ?? is he okay? and I'm calling his name to ask if he's okay. No answer. I find out two hours later that he has earplugs in!

But all's well that ends well! The MRI showed no reason to worry- what a big relief! I think I was more anxious than Scott was. But we now have tons of pills to hopefully prevent any further migraines.

While in Thailand, we made a last minute decision to get a fertility procedure. Since my surgery to remove endometriosis, we've been unsuccessful trying to get pregnant- we're not sure if we will get another chance soon to come back to Thailand, and every month the endometriosis is growing back. So we talked to our doctor about IUI (also known as artificial insemination) and we had a preliminary ultra sound today.
I wasn't excited about IUI until we finished the ultra sound and the doctor told us that each egg that will ovulate has a 50% chance of becoming a fetus- and there are 2 mature eggs ready to 'hatch' and 3 more who could possibly mature as well. Would I love to have 'five tuplets'? (as I call them) You betcha. But it goes without saying that Kathleen, Debbie, Shanna and Brigitte would need to give up their lives in America and come live with me.
Needless to say we are STOKED! Not only do we have a better chance of getting pregnant, but we now have a chance of having multiples!!!!!!!!!
We're trying to keep a level head and not start picking out baby names. (Like any of you believe that. We totally have all the names picked out.) But keep us in your conversations with Father to help us have children, but also protect us from getting to anxious!

Sorry to hear about Scott's migraines. I don't get them often, but when I do I am completely useless to the world. Hope this gets better! I am so excited about the new baby possibilities! Think of you often!
