A few days ago I found out that several people in my family are LIARS!
I was told that on a certain night, Jason and Shanna would call me so I could watch Grace open some birthday presents- they also said some other people might be there with them at their house, so I should probably not wear my pajamas while on Skype.
So, that night Scott took me on a little date to a place we can get chicken nuggets and french fries. We walked around enjoying some ice-cream and then we went home to watch When In Rome- but first we had to skype Grace.
When they called us, there was no Grace opening presents, only a colorful sign that said SURPRISE! After Debbie did some explaining, I finally understood that this was, in fact, a surprise baby shower for me!!!!
I'm tearing up even now just thinking about the effort that they all went to to help me have a baby shower despite the fact that we live on the other side of the world. Many people came and brought so many adorable gifts. Debbie opened them so I could see what every one brought, and Shanna organized some really funny games. She had to be creative to play a game where I could participate though the computer!
It was so sweet- I felt so touched and loved; before this I felt so sad that I wouldn't enjoy one of the fundamental activities that pregnant women get- but not anymore!!
The next day, I skyped with Shanna and she was telling me about how they organized the party and how hard it was to explain that I wouldn't be at the baby shower but they would be able to see me on the computer. Many of them have no idea what Skype is. She said that one person asked, "So, where do I buy a skype at?" haha how cute.
Thank you so much, Debbie and Shanna for all you did to make the shower so special. And thank you to every one who came and brought gifts for the baby- and special thanks to my sweet husband for the plethora of lies he told to keep me from finding out what was going on. I love being pregnant!!!
