Waiting on Baby

Well, we've been in Thailand a little over a week and we're getting settled in. We're renting a cute little apartment that feels like a beach house (sadly, there are no beaches near us) and we're getting to know this area of town. We've always stayed in the Sukhumvit area, but now we're in SuanPhlu. (I mention that only to benefit my memory for future reference.) :-)

We've been taking TONS of walks, trying to find close but inexpensive forms of entertainment. One of our favorite things to do here is go to the movie theater that has huge recliner seats (some are even massage chairs) and watch lots of movies... but that can easily run up the bill, and we've got another 3 weeks waiting on baby girl.... you do the math. ha! So we are still searching out cheaper forms of entertainment.

One day we went to Lumpini Park, it's only about a 15 minute walk from Soi 8. It is over 2 square kilometers and has gardens, rivers and lakes, tennis courts and a swimming pool. We went to see about using the pool, but it's troublesome because they make foreigners bring a recent health certificate, a copy of their passport and visa and so on... too much trouble for a so-so pool. But we did find these awesome, gigantic lizards. See the one I'm pointing to up the tree? That was a small one! I saw one that, at first glance, I thought was an otter swimming in the river. It could have eaten me!

You will also see me sporting the worlds worst hair cut :-( I love the length... but not the crazy choppy layers. I can't complain, though- it only takes a few minutes to straighten it and then I clip it up to hide the "bangs" she tried to give me.


Look at my cutie-pie husband! He is such a big kid in the pool. We found this great hotel that lets non guests buy month by month memberships at it's fitness club! So now we have a pool that's not too far away, as well as a great work out room! Scott goes to work out first and then comes and jumps in the pool to cool off. He's such a riot.

I can't think of a better place to lounge around all day waiting for this baby girl to come!
