I'm one week old today!
I'm opening my eyes more and more...
I've been out with mommy in my sling three times already!
... mommy keeps saying I have my Uncle John's hair line.
My mommy can't believe I was in her tummy only 7 days ago...
and also thinks she should run a brush through her hair before a picture is taken....
and sometimes I poo poo on him before he can get a diaper on me!
hmmm so warm.
This past week has been so amazingcrazyfabulousconfusingtiresomefunnyjoyousbreathtaking-tastik. Joelle has been nursing great, with just one crazy night of crying (mommy ate too many prunes) and one scary incident with blood in her spit up (the blood came from me, not her- yes nursing is painful!)
She really did get Scott good after a bath one day- I heard him from the other room. "Oh no! Hey Christine! Come help, I didn't get the diaper on her on time!" so I strolled in the door just giggling at his predicament- he was laughing so hard and was amazing at how projectile it had been. I shouldn't have giggled so much- she got me today. :-) I asked Scott to hand me more wet-wipes and he just grinned and said "that's what you get for laughing at me!"
Joelle is on a consistent schedule, feeding 8 times a day and getting great naps in between. She now sleeps a five-hour stretch during the night, which mommy and daddy love. For those who haven't heard of Baby Wise, or who haven't given it a chance, we highly recommend it!
Already in the first week of being parents we feel secure, because it's not a guessing game knowing if she's getting enough to eat or if she's getting enough sleep... and also not worrying how to make sure I produce enough milk.
Here's something weird-o that's been happening this week. Both Scott and I have had vivid dreams- ALL of them about losing each other, and none of them including Joelle, yet. ?? What can it mean? I dreamed about Joelle all the time while I was pregnant- now I mostly dream about Scott. That now makes him the "man of my dreams" in a more literal sense, I guess. haha
Happy first week, Joelle!
