If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

6 Months Old!

Joelle turned 6 months old on May 16th!

So, since we won't be with the friends in our city when she turns 1 (we'll be in the States WOO!!), we had a little party for her 6 month old birthday!

There are a lot of exclamation marks in this post already. Sorry, but here come some more:

Joelle had carrots for the first time, mixed in with a little rice cereal. ooh yum!

She gobbled it up!

We asked a photographer to come to the house to take pictures of her and the group- he did a great job, didn't he?

Scott said something funny and got us cracking up in the picture below.  It was probably his "why do hummingbirds hum" joke.  (they forgot the words)
You can see a little bit o' the party in the background- I made a slushy yummy drink and some chocolate-dipped pretzels as refreshments.
The slush drink is orange juice, lemon juice, pineapples, smashed banana (freeze for a few hours then break it up) and then add sprite.  It's "a summer time drink" as Brittany so rightly named it.

I would so seriously consider stealing this mans camera. I look upon my dinky camera with disdain, now.
 Couldn't resist the old-fashioned flocking.  I'm a sucker for any thing "throw-back"

A family of three, picture perfect.  There were so many days I thought I'd never see this.

And now introducing the Aunts and Uncles who lavish Joelle with love:

Aunt B

Aunt Sha-Sha

Aunt Ashley

Aunt Sue-hua

Uncle Christian

Uncle Don

I can't even imagine how different our life would be without these people living down the street.  They kept our dog for us for 3 months while we lived in Thailand, babysit so Scott and I can have dates, keep us entertained with game nights and can lend a sympathetic ear when we're going crazy with culture shock.
I love you ALL.

Joelle LOVES her doggy.  Joelle reaches out and holds her, squeals at her and accidentally pulls out fist-fulls of hair. The poor dog is so starved for attention she actually loves this.

Daddy and Daughter. Oh it's the most beautiful sight to my eyes.  My two biggest gifts.

Our "China Family"

Scott helped me make these little invitations.  I love how a little bow can make anything fancy!

Joelle, the past 6 months have been the best 6 months of my life.  I thank the Lord for you every day, and cherish each moment we have together.
I am so looking forward to watching you continue to grow, and can't wait until the days when I can tell you about your Heavenly Father who loves you even more than I do!

This really was very special! It's a privilege to be an Aunt to your precious little Jo Jo. In case I haven't told you, I kind of adore her! (And I like you both some too!) (Okay. I like you both a lot and I can't imagine NOT having you as part of my family!)
